How air freight is charged
Air freight is billed on chargeable weight: the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight. Volumetric weight (kg) = length × width × height (cm) × pieces ÷ 6,000, so light, bulky cargo is usually charged by volume.
Checking volumetric weight and tightening packaging before you ship is the most direct way to control air freight cost.

Frequently asked questions
How is air freight volumetric weight calculated?
Volumetric weight (kg) = L × W × H (cm) × pieces ÷ 6,000, and you pay on whichever is greater, actual or volumetric. A 60 × 50 × 40 cm carton weighing 10 kg has a volumetric weight of 20 kg and is charged as 20 kg.
Can dangerous goods go by air?
Many can, under international rules, with a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and class-specific packing and declaration. Our DG-certified team can assess your cargo first.
What does door-to-door mean?
We collect from the shipper, handle export customs, transport, import clearance and final delivery, so you deal with a single contact.
